Delicious Potato Leberkäse Skillet with Beef Recipe

This hearty Potato Leberkäse Skillet combines crispy potatoes and savory Leberkäse for a comforting meal. Perfect for a rainy day, it’s quick to prepare and packed with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 g potatoes (peeled and diced)
  • 300 g Leberkäse (cut into cubes)
  • 2 tablespoons oil (for frying)
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 eggs (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into small cubes. In a large pot, boil the potatoes in lightly salted water for 10 minutes until just soft. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a large skillet. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  3. Add the pre-cooked potato cubes to the skillet and fry for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are evenly browned and crispy.
  4. Add the diced Leberkäse and fry for another 5 minutes until lightly browned. Stir everything well to combine the flavors.
  5. If desired, crack the eggs over the potato-Leberkäse mixture and stir until they set, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to set the heat too high to avoid drying out the eggs.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste and stir well. Remove the skillet from heat and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve the dish hot.

Nutrition

Keywords: Avoid overcooking the potatoes to prevent them from becoming too soft. Use a non-stick skillet or a well-seasoned cast iron pan to prevent sticking. You can also add bell peppers or mushrooms for extra flavor and texture.
