Delicious Gyros Made at Home: Juicy Beef Recipe!

  • 100 g onions
  • 1 clove garlic
  • ½ tsp thyme
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp rosemary
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika powder

  • 30 ml olive oil
  • Salt & chili to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork with kitchen paper to remove excess moisture, which takes about 2 minutes.
  2. Cut the meat into thin strips and place them in a large bowl, which should take about 5 minutes.
  3. Peel and slice the onions and garlic into thin strips and add them to the meat, taking about 3 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the dried herbs, cumin, paprika, and pepper with the olive oil, which takes about 5 minutes.
  5. Pour the marinade over the meat and mix well, ensuring the meat is evenly coated, which takes about 3 minutes.
  6. Cover the bowl and let the marinated meat rest in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours, ideally overnight.
  7. Heat a pan over medium heat and add some olive oil, which takes about 2 minutes until the oil is hot.
  8. Add the meat to the pan and fry for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown and cooked through, stirring occasionally.
  9. Season the finished gyros with salt and chili to taste, which takes about 1 minute.
  10. Serve and enjoy the gyros! Fresh flatbread or salad pairs perfectly with it.
