Chocolate Cake with Strawberry Filling – A Treat for Sweet Tooths!

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch round cake pans and dust them with flour to ensure the cake releases easily later.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix the dry ingredients well until evenly distributed.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix everything with a hand mixer or whisk until the batter is well combined, about 2 minutes on medium speed.
  4. Pour the boiling water into the batter and stir gently. The batter will be very liquid, which is normal. Ensure there are no lumps remaining.
  5. Evenly distribute the batter into the prepared cake pans. Bake the cakes for 30-35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. The top should spring back lightly when pressed gently.
  6. After baking, let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then carefully remove them from the pans and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
  7. Place one of the cooled cake layers on a serving plate. Evenly distribute the sliced strawberries on top of the first layer, covering it well.
  8. Carefully place the second cake layer on top of the strawberries. This helps keep the filling in place and provides a nice presentation.
  9. Cover the entire cake with whipped cream or frosting of your choice. You can also add more sliced strawberries on top of the cake for decoration.
